Keith Richards says Rolling Stones 'rehearsing'

LONDON, July 12 (UPI) -- British rocker Keith Richards says his band the Rolling Stones has been rehearsing as it marks the 50th anniversary of its first London show Thursday.

Rumors have been rampant claiming the iconic music act will go on tour to celebrate the milestone.

"There's things in the works -- I think it's definitely happening," the guitarist told the BBC, offering few details. "But when? I can't say yet. We're playing around with the idea and had a couple of rehearsals -- we've got together and it feels so good."

He went on to say he hopes the band never retires.

"There might be life in the old dog yet -- we'll die gracefully, elegantly wasted," he told the BBC.

"Sometimes it's hard work and you wonder why you're doing it, but apart from those few moments it's been an incredible adventure."

The Stones' last world tour, "A Bigger Bang," was one of the most successful in music history. About 4.5 million people in 32 countries saw it before it wrapped in London five years ago.
