PRAGUE, Czech Republic, July 1 (UPI) -- Prague police arrested the lead singer of U.S. heavy-metal band Lamb of God for an alleged altercation in 2010 that left a concertgoer dead, the band announced.

Randall "Randy" Blythe, who was arrested Thursday, could face five to 10 years in prison if convicted of charges of fourth-degree bodily harm resulting in the death of a fan, Czech media outlet Novinky reported.

However, Maria Ferrero, the band's longtime publicist, told MTV news no formal charges have been filed. She said there have also been inaccurate reports of what happened at the concert at Prague's Club Abaton in May 2010.

"Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head," Ferrero said.

Lamb of God is known for playing high-energy music where fans slam dance, mosh or crowd surf, WTVR-TV, Richmond, Va., reported from the band's hometown.

"Being in a band onstage can be extremely chaotic, real anarchistic," said Richmond musician Greta Brinkman. "People get excited and throw things … and I could easily see how someone could fall and get hurt. You know, anything can happen."
