Doc Watson hospitalized in ICU after fall

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., May 25 (UPI) -- Arthel "Doc" Watson is hospitalized in critical condition after a fall at his North Carolina home, the 89-year-old folk musician's family said.

Watson's daughter, Nancy, told the Winston-Salem Journal the blind Grammy Award-winning artist remains at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after he took a tumble Monday.

Nancy Watson said her father didn't break any bones but is "real sick."

The Journal quoted his manager as saying Doc Watson is being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit.
