NEW YORK, May 21 (UPI) -- The producers of the upcoming stage revival of "Annie" say the production will be housed at the Palace Theatre on Broadway.
The show is to begin previews Oct. 3 and will open Nov. 8.
"Like our title character, we're delighted to have found a home!" producer Arielle Tepper Madover said in a statement Monday. "I couldn't be more thrilled that 'Annie' will be back on Broadway 'playing the Palace' in the heart of the theater district and in a legendary Broadway theater."
"Annie" features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan. It is based on the newspaper character "Little Orphan Annie" by Harold Gray. The new stage production is directed by three-time Tony Award-winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler.
Producers said 11-year-old Lilla Crawford will play the title role.
