LOS ANGELES, May 1 (UPI) -- Carlos Santana and the Santana Band will share the stage with The Allman Brothers Band for six co-headlining dates in the United States this July.

The series of shows is to kick off July 22 at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Lake, N.Y. It will wrap up July 30 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md.

The other concerts will be at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater July 24 in Wantagh, N.Y.; the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J., July 25; the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga, N.Y., July 27; and the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Conn., July 28.

Tickets for the six dates go on sale Friday.

"It is a delight and an honor to finally share the stage, and the music, with Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes and The Allman Brothers Band," Carlos Santana said in a statement Tuesday. "This is something that we've hoped to make happen for many years."

The concerts follow the first leg of U.S. dates on Santana's Shape Shifter Tour 2012. Previously, Santana and The Allman Brothers have only interacted at major festivals.

"We've all looked forward to doing this for a very long time," Allman said.
