CHICAGO, April 30 (UPI) -- A Chicago judge has approved the release of the 911 call Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia, made upon discovering her mother had been shot to death in their home.

Julia's ex-husband, William Balfour, is on trial for allegedly killing the Hudson sisters' mother and brother, as well as Julia's 7-year-old son, in 2008.

"Help, please," E! News quoted Julia Hudson as telling a 911 operator when she arrived home from work and discovered her mother's body. "Oh, God. Somebody's killed my mother, somebody's killed my mother. ... Please help me. Oh my God, oh my God."

Asked by the dispatcher if she needed an ambulance, Julia replied: "I don't know. I'm scared. ... Please. ... Please. ... Can you please send an ambulance? Please. Oh my God. She's on the floor and I see blood coming from her head... I just came home from work and there's a bullet hole in our front door... She's 57 years old. Please help my mama. Please just send an ambulance."

E! News said the recording was released Monday morning at the behest of Judge Charles Burns, who is overseeing the trial.

The prosecution had fought the release of the audio at this time, arguing it had not been fully entered into evidence yet, E! News said.

The trial began last week and is expected to take a month to complete. It has received international attention because it involves the family of Jennifer Hudson, an Oscar-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer.
