LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) -- Troubled U.S. country music artist Mindy McCready says she has given birth to her second son.

Baby Zayne, her first child with boyfriend David Wilson, was born Monday, E! News said Friday.

No details regarding the birth, such as where it took place, were immediately reported.

The baby "is truly a blessing and a joy," McCready said in a statement. "It was a long and trying pregnancy; we're so happy he's here. There are no words to convey how happy we are."

McCready has a history of suicide attempts, as well as addictions to drugs and alcohol. She is in the middle of a battle with her mother over custody of Zander, her 5-year-old son with her ex-boyfriend, Billy McKnight.
