LOS ANGELES, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Whitney Houston's family plans to tell the late singer's daughter she needs to go into rehab as soon as possible, sources told TMZ.com.
The celebrity Web site said Houston's family plans to tell Bobbi Kristina Brown she needs to go on the wagon once Saturday's high profile funeral in Newark, N.J., is over.
Sources said Brown, 18, has been in the grips of substance abuse for the past few years and her relatives don't want her to meet the same fate as her mom, who died suddenly in Beverly Hills during the celebrations leading up to last week's Grammy Awards.
Houston's family wants Bobbi Kristina to spend a couple of months cleaning herself up at a live-in facility as soon as an appropriate grieving period has passed, the sources said.
TMZ said it was uncertain whether Brown would consent to the idea and she was not reached for comment.
