LOS ANGELES, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Michael Jackson's former manager said he planned to counter-sue the late singer's estate after it sued him in Los Angeles over his contract.

Tohme R. Tohme had no comment on the litigation other than to tell the Los Angeles Times he had his own lawsuit in the works against the Jackson estate.

Tohme was sued Friday. The suit asked a judge to void his agreement with Jackson and return millions of dollars.

The Times said the suit contended Tohme was not entitled to compensation that included a 15-percent cut of Jackson's income on top of a $35,000-a-month salary and a share of the sale of Jackson's fabled Neverland Ranch in California. Tohme filed a claim against the estate after Jackson's death in 2009 seeking $2.3 million he said he was owed.

Tohme negotiated the terms of Jackson's ambitious comeback tour, which never took place. The estate's lawsuit contended Tohme had no experience in the entertainment industry.
