Adele sings for first time since surgery

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- British singer Adele gave fans a preview of her upcoming performance at the Grammy Awards, her first since having vocal cord surgery.

Adele performed her hit "Rolling in the Deep," a capella on Anderson Cooper's "60 Minutes Overtime," "Access Hollywood" reported Friday.

Adele was forced to cancel a 10-day sold-out U.S. tour in October when she suffered a vocal cord hemorrhage.

The doctor who performed the surgery to correct the singer's bleeding, Steven Zeitels, the director of Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Center, said he wouldn't be surprised if she was back on tour again before long, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

"When I do that kind of operation, the typical time someone starts singing again is 3 1/2 to five weeks," he said.

Zeitels was invited to attend the 54th Grammy Awards ceremony Sunday.
