LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Terminally ill singer Etta James has been discharged from the Los Angeles-area hospital where she spent the past two weeks, her manager said.
James, 73, is suffering from terminal leukemia and dementia. She was hospitalized last month because she was having trouble breathing and needed to use a respirator. She also was battling an infection.
James' friend and manager Lupe de Leon told E! News she returned to her Riverside County home with her husband of 41 years, Artis Mills, Thursday afternoon after her blood pressure stabilized and her breathing improved.
