LONDON, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- British singer Dido confirmed during the Christmas holiday she gave birth to her first child, a son, in July at a London hospital.

The Daily Mail said the 40-year-old recording star and her husband, writer and director Rohan Gavin, named their baby Stanley.

The newspaper did not say what took the couple so long to announce the birth of their son.
