Publicist: Gomez and Bieber not engaged

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Selena Gomez's publicist says the 19-year-old U.S. singer-actress is not engaged to her 17-year-old recording star beau Justin Bieber.

UsMagazine.com said the "Wizards of Waverly Place" star sparked rumors when she was photographed wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger Wednesday.

However, Gomez's representative quickly put the buzz to rest.

"She is not engaged," the publicist told the celebrity news Web site.
