LONDON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been booked to headline Britain's Isle of Wight Festival in June, organizers announced.
The show will be the American rock band's first major U.K. concert in 20 years, the BBC said.
Festival promoter John Giddings called Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers "one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time."
"It has taken years to achieve but I'm sure it will be worth the wait," Giddings said of booking the group.
The BBC said Bruce Springsteen, Elbow and Biffy Clyro are also part of the lineup for the festival, scheduled to run June 22-24.
