CHICAGO, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is scheduled to close next month on a 12,000-square-foot home in Burr Ridge, Ill., the Chicago Tribune reported.

The mansion was for sale for nearly $2.8 million, but it is unclear what the "Dreamgirls" Oscar winner paid for it, the newspaper said.

The sellers' original asking price for the six-bedroom, seven-bath home was $4.2 million, the report said.

Hudson is a Chicago native. She and her fiance, David Otunga, a professional wrestler and former reality television personality, have a toddler-age son.
