LOS ANGELES, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Miley Cyrus' publicist says the U.S. singer-actress was joking when she said she was a "stoner" at her recent 19th birthday party.
A video widely circulated during the weekend showed the former "Hannah Montana" star being presented by her friend Kelly Osbourne with a cake in the image of late reggae icon Bob Marley.
"This is amazing. You know you're a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake. You know you smoke way too much [expletive] weed," Cyrus said in the video.
"I thought salvia was your problem, man," Osbourne said. referring to an incident in which Cyrus was photographed smoking the herb, which can have hallucinogenic effects, out of a bong at her 18th birthday party.
"It's all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley's response was intended to be sarcastic," Miley's spokeswoman told E! News.
Osbourne also leaped to Cyrus' defense via Twitter, E! News reported.
"Let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her Bob Miley as a JOKE! the cake was also A JOKE! it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!" Osbourne said in her online message. "u guys if @MileyCyrus is not recording/filming/touring she works everyday how could she possible do all that if she was a stoner! #think"
