ISTANBUL, Turkey, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Kurdish singer Ibrahim Tatlises has married Aysegul Yildiz in the Istanbul rehab facility where he is recovering following a drive-by shooting in March.
Today's Zaman, a Turkish English-language newspaper, reported the couple wed Tuesday at Darussafaka Omran and Yahya Hamuluoglu Physical Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, in the presence of a small group of family and friends, including Galatasaray team coach Fatih Terim and businessman Yuksel Caglar.
Sisli Mayor Mustafa Sarigul performed the marriage ceremony.
Ahmet Tatlises, son of the groom, told Today's Zaman the recording artist is in good health, but still undergoing physical rehabilitation for injuries sustained when he and his spokeswoman, Buket Cakici, were attacked in Istanbul in a drive-by shooting.
Tatlises was shot several times in the head and underwent two brain operations, the newspaper said.
