BRONX, N.Y., Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King are to serve as co-hosts of BET's "Black Girls Rock" TV special, set to tape next month in the Bronx in New York.

The 2nd annual event, which honors exceptional women of color around the world who stand as inspirational and positive role models, is to take place Oct. 15 at the Paradise Theater, BET said.

The 2-hour TV special is to make its network premiere Nov. 6.

Last year's honorees included Ruby Dee, Missy Elliot, Raven Symone, Keke Palmer, Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant, Teresa Clarke and Maj. Gen. Marcelite J. Harris.

"Last year's performance of Nina Simone's 'Four Women' by Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosius, Jill Scott and Ledisi was an instant classic fueled by undeniable strength, beauty, talent and passion," BET said in a release. "This year, viewers can expect more magical moments that are sure to empower, entertain and elevate the soul and senses."

BET has not yet announced the names of this year's honorees and performers.
