LONDON, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Michael McIntyre has resigned his post as judge of "Britain's Got Talent" after a year, so he can concentrate on his career as a standup comedian, ITV said.
"We wish him the best and look forward to working with him again," an ITV spokesman told the BBC.
"It's been amazing working with Michael -- I don't need to wish him any luck with the tour because it's already gigantic!" said Simon Cowell, a producer and former judge on "Talent."
McIntyre's replacement has not yet been announced.
