LONDON, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Amy Winehouse's father says the late British singer had no illegal drugs in her system when she died suddenly at the age of 27 earlier this year.

Mitch Winehouse told CNN's Anderson Cooper toxicology tests detected some alcohol and a small amount of Librium, an anti-anxiety medication used to combat alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

"What happened to Amy wasn't anything to do with drugs," Winehouse said in a taping of CNN's "Anderson."

The Daily Telegraph said Winehouse has insisted his daughter did not overdose on illicit drugs in July despite her hard-living lifestyle and repeated bouts with substance abuse in the past.

Amy Winehouse had a big hit in 2006 with her album "Back to Black" and the ironic single "Rehab."
