MINOT, N.D., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- The Black Eyed Peas benefit show in North Dakota Saturday night was a salute to the group's family ties to the rural state, the concert's organizer said.
The highly urban hipsters rocked the state fair in Minot to raise money for flood relief in the city where actor Josh Duhamel, husband of the Peas' Fergie, was born and raised.
"I'm beyond proud of what the people of this town have been able to pull off in such a short amount of time," Duhamel told KXMB-TV, Minot.
The goal of the event was to raise $1 million. KXMB said the final totals were not immediately known; however corporate sponsorships alone were worth several hundred thousand dollars.
