FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Country superstar Kenny Chesney said Wednesday he's bumped up the date of his Foxborough, Mass., show due to predictions about Hurricane Irene's landfall.
Chesney moved his concert at the Gillette Stadium from Sunday to Friday because of warnings the hurricane could hit by the weekend, theboot.com reported.
Storms killed seven people at the Indiana State Fair Aug. 13, prior to a performance by Chesney's friend's and performing mates, Sugarland.
"I want the last weekend of the Goin' Coastal Tour to be a great experience for everybody. But I also want it to be the safest experience for everyone," Chesney wrote on his Web site. "I've always said Foxboro (sic) is a highlight of our tour, because the fans are ready for a great night of music and fun no matter what night it is!"
