STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Police in a Cleveland suburb said rapper Machine Gun Kelly was arrested for disorderly conduct this weekend after a flash mob plan went awry.

The up-and-coming artist was among a number of individuals picked up at SouthPark mall in Strongsville where hundreds of youths gathered in response to a call-up on Kelly's Twitter feed.

Stongsville police said in a written statement the arrests were made after Kelly allegedly refused to comply with an order to stop standing on a table in the food court.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer said videos posted on YouTube shortly after the incident showed mostly white teens and young adults chanting "MGK" as the rapper, whose real name is Colson Baker, was handcuffed and marched out of the building.

The newspaper said flash mobs featuring song-and-dance routines have taken place at SouthPark in the past; however, there has been a disturbing trend in the United States in which mall flash mobs turn into ruckuses and even store robberies.
