HENDERSON, Nev., Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Police in Nevada say an assistant to Barry Manilow's personal physician died of an apparent drug overdose.
KLAS-TV, Las Vegas, cited law enforcement sources who said Christopher Curtis had taken fentanyl. The drug is a synthetic narcotic sometimes used as a painkiller.
The death is being investigated by police in Henderson, a large community just outside Las Vegas.
Manilow, 68, has been a headliner in Las Vegas since 2005, first at the Las Vegas Hilton and more recently at the Paris Hotel.
