NEW YORK, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Hip-hop stars Jay-Z and Kanye West, who are planning a concert tour to support their upcoming album, are barely speaking, sources told the New York Post.

"Watch the Throne" is set for release Aug. 8 on iTunes and in stores four days later. The recording artists, who are performing together as a duo called The Throne, last week announced plans for a North American concert tour, then later said they were adding dates because demand was so high for tickets.

However, insiders told the Post the singers have vastly different visions for how the tour should be run.

"Jay-Z can't deal with Kanye," one source told the newspaper. "Jay is a stone-cold businessman. He wants to recoup all of his money from Live Nation. But Kanye wants to upstage rock stars with a blowout show. He doesn't care about costs. He has a lot less to gain from the shows."

"Jay-Z is fed up with West's antics," a second insider said. "He doesn't even want to be around him."

The Post said the rappers' representatives didn't respond to requests for a comment on the story.
