LONDON, May 21 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow rapped the opening verse of "Gangsta Gangsta" by N.W.A. during a visit to Britain's "Graham Norton Show."
UsMagazine.com said Friday the Oscar-winning "Shakespeare in Love" star, who is married to rocker Chris Martin and is close friends with singers Madonna, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z, performed Ice Cube's part in "Gangsta Gangsta" after Norton asked her if it is really true she has an affection for 1990s hip-hop.
"Yes, very true, seriously," Paltrow told the talk-show host.
"Let me test you," Norton prompted.
"Oh, God ... ." Paltrow laughed.
"So, if I were to say to you, 'Straight out of Compton ... .' What would you say?" Norton said.
"I'd say it was from a classic N.W.A. album," Paltrow said, then rapped: "Here's a little something about a [bleep] like me; never should've been let out of the penitentiary. Ice Cube, I'd like to say, that I'm a crazy mother [expletive] from around the way."
Paltrow recently sang in the film "Country Strong" and guest starred on the music-themed dramedy series "Glee."
