DUSSELDORF, Germany, May 15 (UPI) -- The Azerbaijan duo of Ell and Nikki won the 2011 Eurovision Saturday with their romantic ballad "Running Scared" stealing the show in Dusseldorf, Germany.

About 125 million people worldwide tuned in to watch the final round of the music competition, Deutsche Welle reported.

Ell and Nikki's performance earned 221 points, beating out their rivals, including Raphael Gualazzi of Italy who finished second with the jazz number "Madness of Love." Eric Saade of Sweden took third.

The Azerbiaijan duo also aced out the twin-brother, Irish pop rap duo Jedward and Lena Meyer-Landrut, the German singer who won last year in Norway.
