LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) -- Marie Osmond's publicist has confirmed the entertainer remarried her ex-husband, former basketball player Stephen Craig, in Las Vegas Wednesday.

People.com said the private ceremony took place almost four decades after they first exchanged vows in 1982.

They divorced three years later and are the parents of a 28-year-old son. Osmond, 51, went on to marry Brian Blosil in 1986. They had seven children together and divorced in 2007. Their son, Michael, committed suicide in 2010 after battling depression for most of his life. He was 19.

"I am so happy and look forward to sharing my life with Stephen, who is an amazing man as well as a great father to my children," Osmond said in a statement to People.com.

She donned the same Ret Turner-designed dress she wore to her first wedding to Craig, now 54 and working as a motivational speaker, the celebrity Web site said.

Wednesday was the birthday of Osmond's son, Michael, and late mother, Olive.

"It was important that both Michael and my mom were with us on this special day," Osmond told People.com.
