TORONTO, April 3 (UPI) -- Robbie Robertson, famed guitarist for The Band, was among the people and songs honored at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala held in Toronto.

Live performances and video tributes honored 13 songs and artists at the 7th annual event at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.

Robertson was honored with a video and testimonial paying homage to his work, which has already earned him a spot in the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Montreal Gazette reported.

Others honored at the gala Saturday include French-Canadian composer Romeo Beaudry, John Stromberg and Pierre Letourneau, and other artists and songs.

The work of Jack Scott was honored by a performance of "What in the World's Come Over You," as performed by Russel DeCarle.

Audio from the event will air on CBC Radio 2 on April 7 fro 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern time, the first of several planned broadcasts.
