NEW YORK, March 26 (UPI) -- Disco princess Lady Gaga says she has released a new version of her dance club hit "Born this Way" that includes a decidedly country-and-western flavor.

The remix was announced via Twitter and gives "Born this Way" what People magazine said was more of a ballad sound accented with harmonicas.

People said Saturday the new version was created by the 24-year-old pop singer and co-producer Fernando Garibay and includes a new verse: "If we want it make it country, baby, it's okay/'cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way."

The original version of "Born this Way" is on Gaga's new CD, which comes out in May.
