LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- U.S. singer-actress Miley Cyrus was floored by her dad's negative public comments about her celebrity status, a source told People magazine.

"Miley is upset," an insider close to the family said. "She is very hurt and angry."

People said Saturday that while the 18-year-old entertainer has yet to comment on the remarks made by her country music star-father, Billy Ray Cyrus, she has "seemed stressed."

"She tries to hide it behind a constant smile," the source said.

Billy Ray said recently his little girl's remarkable ascent had taken a toll on their family life. A friend of his told People that going public may have been his last-ditch effort to communicate his concerns to his daughter.
