LONDON, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- British pop group Coldplay has been booked to perform at the Glastonbury music and performing arts festival in Somerset, England, this summer, organizers said.

"This is the triumphant return of a band that everyone here feels part of," organizer Michael Eavis told the BBC Tuesday.

Coldplay sang at the festival in 2005, 2002 and 1999.

The band is to perform on the main Pyramid Stage June 25, while U.S. pop star Beyonce has been named the headliner for June 26.

The BBC said Irish rockers U2 are rumored to be planning to perform during the festival after they had to cancel last year so lead singer Bono could have back surgery.
