Skybombers plans U.S. concert tour

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 25 (UPI) -- The Australian band Skybombers is set to release a new album and plans a U.S. concert tour, 429 Records announced Tuesday.

"Black Carousel," the follow-up to the group's debut "Take Me to Town," was produced and recorded in Los Angeles with Rick Parker, the label said.

The first single from the CD to be released to radio is "Lies." It also will be available as a digital download March 3.

The album is set for release on 429 Records March 29 and the tour will begin April 1 in Los Angeles.

"Much has changed since our last tours way back in 2008," lead vocalist Hugh Gurney said in a statement. "With this album and the expanded lineup we have broadened our sonic landscape and our live show and can deliver a sound we have long been seeking and can only now truly deliver. 'Lies' captures the excitement of the band perfectly."

The tour is expected to stop in major markets throughout April and May, including San Diego; Phoenix; Austin, Texas; Minneapolis; Chicago; Detroit; Toronto; Montreal; Boston; Providence, R.I.; Hoboken, N.J.; New York; Philadelphia; Washington; Columbus, Ohio; St. Louis; Denver; Salt Lake City; Seattle; Portland, Ore.; and San Francisco.
