Monica tells of marriage to Shannon Brown

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Singer and reality TV star Monica confirmed this week she married Los Angeles Lakers team member Shannon Brown in November.

UsMagazine.com said the wedding took place Nov. 22 at the couple's Los Angeles home.

"This is a very special time in my life," Monica told HipHollywood.com. "I am blessed to have married the man that God sent me. He's loving, compassionate, strong and supportive of my children, family and career. I look forward to our lives together."

The couple started dating last summer and announced their engagement in October, UsMagazine.com said.

Monica has two young children with her ex-fiance, Rodney "Rocko" Hill.
