LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- The rapper known as The Game received stitches in a finger after going Pete Townsend during a video shoot in Los Angeles, TMZ.com reported.

The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, was taping a scene in which he smashed a guitar al la The Who star and wound up slicing his finger open, TMZ said Saturday.

Co-stars who witnessed the mishap included LA rap icon Snoop Dogg, DJ Skee, and Los Angeles Lakers Ron Artest and Matt Barnes.

The Game quickly reassured fans via Twitter he was no worse for wear. Last year The Game had to tweet down rumors that he was dead.
