DETROIT, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Kid Rock plans to celebrate his 40th birthday with thousands of fans at Ford Field in Detroit.
The concert will actually be Saturday, two days before the singer's birthday, the Detroit Free Press reported. Tickets are sold out, although they are available on resale sites at $100 or more and more could become available as stage construction proceeds.
Kid Rock was born Robert James Ritchie on Jan. 17, 1971, in Romeo, Mich., a small town in a rural area about 50 miles north of Detroit. He developed a musical style that mixed Detroit hip hop and rock with country.
The guest list for Saturday's show is uncertain. Kid Rock told reporters in November he was inviting as many other performers as he could, hoping to "make it a different kind of concert, almost like a celebration of music and our city and all the good things here."
