LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Singer and guitarist Carlos Santana has confirmed he married drummer Cindy Blackman in Hawaii.

People.com reported Wednesday 180 guests, including comedian George Lopez and musicians Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, attended the Dec. 19 ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton on Maui.

"The weather was kind of iffy, so we said, 'Let's just do it inside,'" Santana told People.com. "Because no matter where we did it, the sun was shining."

"Rain represents mercy," added Blackman. "It couldn't have been more beautiful."

Santana was divorced from Deborah, his wife of 34 years, in 2007.
