BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Singer and actress Demi Lovato is being treated for "emotional and physical issues," her representative said.

While Lovato is in treatment, the Disney Channel and producers of her series "Sonny with a Chance" will fine-tune the program and let the spotlight fall on the popular show "So Random," People magazine reported.

The move lets the production's third season resume in January and "allows (Demi) the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure," a Disney Channel spokesman said.

Lovato, 18, dropped out of the Jonas Brothers tour last month and "decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help," her representative said. "She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."

Lovato has reportedly broken up with Joe Jonas, a member of the Jonas Brothers.
