Lil Wayne courtside in NOLA after release

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- The manager for Lil Wayne said the rap star wanted to keep a low profile while taking in a basketball game in his hometown of New Orleans.

Friday's game between the New Orleans Hornets and Miami was the first for the avid NBA fan since his release from New York's Rykers Island, where he was locked up in March on a gun charge.

The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune said Sunday that despite the intensive coverage of his release by celebrity Web sites, manager Cortez Bryant told the newspaper the newly freed star wanted to be a "discreet" courtside presence.

Lil Wayne himself had little to say to reporters at the game other than he was pleased to be home and planned to "live life the right way."
