DETROIT, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Singer Aretha Franklin has been released from Michigan's Sinai Grace Hospital following a brief stay, her representatives said Tuesday.

Franklin, 68, was discharged last Saturday after having been admitted to the hospital at the recommendation of her doctors.

The recording star's publicist did not disclose the nature of her illness but said she is resting comfortably at home and anxious to get back on the road.

"I would like to thank my friends, fans and supporters for all the beautiful flowers and their many well wishes," Franklin said in a statement.
