LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- U.S. recording artist Chris Brown, who pleaded guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna last year, says he is working on a new album.

Brown, 21, was sentenced to community service and probation for hitting Rihanna in early 2009.

He has since been working hard to put the past behind him and is currently gearing up to release a new album called "F.A.M.E.," TV's "Access Hollywood" reported Friday.

"The new album is called 'F.A.M.E.: Forgiving All My Enemies.' Basically just being able to witness my success, failure and success again," said Brown. "Being able to see me going from my best times to my worst, and being able to overcome it and growing (in)to a man, as I was doing it."

Brown was asked by "Access Hollywood" whether he felt it was unfair many people turned on him after what happened with Rihanna.

"It is what it is. The only thing I can do is look to the future, and really just be positive and do as much music as I can, give as much entertainment as I can, dance my butt off and just show them what I bring to the table every day," he observed.
