LAS VEGAS, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Donny Osmond said in Las Vegas he and Marie are doing fine in spite of a breach of contract suit filed by former producer Chip Lightman.

Osmond hosted the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation's annual Danny Gans Memorial Champions Run for Life in Las Vegas Saturday, the Las Vegas Sun reported. It drew more than 2,000 participants.

Gans is the Osmond's late friend and fellow strip performer who helped bring them to Las Vegas. The Osmonds dismissed Lightman in September, the report said.

Osmond told The Sun he can't talk about Lightman's breach of contract suit on advice from his attorney, but spoke about a new album coming out, and how proud he is of Marie in dealing with the suicide death of her son.

He said he and Marie plan to complete their commitment to perform in Las Vegas until 2012, and he can't see leaving Las Vegas in any case.

"Well, when you think about it, you look at the big picture. I've been here since I was 7, so Las Vegas will always be a place for me," he told the Sun. "It's the center of entertainment. The Entertainment Capital of the World term is accurate, and I will always want to perform here."
