Jay-Z up for 10 BET Hip Hop Awards

NEW YORK, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. rapper and producer Jay-Z led the field with 10 nods when nominations for this year's BET Hip Hop Awards were announced.

Young Money's Drake follows with eight nominations, while Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj tied with seven nominations apiece.

The winners are to be announced at a ceremony at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta Oct. 2. The show is to premiere on BET Oct. 12.

Comedian Mike Epps is serving as host for the event.
