NEW YORK, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Broadway star Chad Kimball has expanded his Obvious Clothing T-shirt line to include "Lolly Cashmere" sweaters, named after his grandmother.
"We've taken classic hound's tooth, chevron and paisley patterns and passed through them our design filter. You can wear Lolly to the gym, for cocktails, for a business meeting. Pretty versatile," Kimball, 34, the Tony-nominated star of the musical "Memphis," told the New York Daily News. The sweaters retail for $110 to $210, the News reported Saturday.
"My older brother, Todd, and I wanted to go into business together. He called me one day with an idea about making message tees. We started out knowing nothing about the industry, which was liberating. Our first shirts said what they were, like Green Shirt and Blue Shirt. They were cute and it was a foray into what we're doing now," Kimball said, adding Obvious (obvious-clothing.com) saw its first breakthrough when stars including Fergie, Vanessa Williams and Ashley Tisdale appeared wearing Obvious Tees in glossies including People magazine.
