MOSCOW, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Police in Moscow closed information desks set up at a U2 concert by Amnesty International, Greenpeace Russia and the ONE Campaign, RIA Novosti said.

Although the aid organizations had previously secured permission from the Irish rock band's management to hand out information during Wednesday's show, at least two Amnesty International volunteers were also arrested for distributing fliers.

RIA Novosti quoted police as saying the volunteers were prevented from carrying on with their work after they staged an "unsanctioned" rally.
