LONDON, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Van Halen's publishing company says the U.S. rock band is recording a new CD with original lead singer David Lee Roth.
It marks the first new album the group has collaborated on with Roth in 26 years. The singer left Van Halen in 1985 to pursue a solo career. He reunited with his former band mates in 2007 and has been touring with them since.
The Guardian newspaper said Warner/Chappell Music issued a statement announcing they are renewing their publishing deal with Eddie and Alex Van Halen.
"The group is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011," the statement concluded.
The as-yet-untitled CD is also the band's first new album in more than a decade.
