NEW YORK, July 22 (UPI) -- Rapper Foxy Brown pleaded not guilty Thursday to violating an order of protection her neighbor has against her, court records show.

The New York Daily News said she was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court, then released on $5,000 bail.

Her next court date is July 27.

Arlene Raymond accused Brown of hitting her with her BlackBerry mobile device in 2007 and subsequently requested an order of protection against her.

The Daily News said Brown, 31, whose birth name is Inga D. Marchand, was rehearsing in her Brooklyn apartment building when Raymond apparently looked at her, allegedly causing Brown to yell expletives at Raymond, then lift up her skirt, prompting Raymond to call police.

Brown was arrested and charged with one count of criminal contempt for violating the order of protection, the newspaper said.
