NEW YORK, July 15 (UPI) -- "American Idol" Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta is preparing for the release of his second album in September, Jive Label Group announced Thursday.

19 Recordings/Jive Records is to release "Other Side of Down" Sept. 14.

"Something 'Bout Love" -- co-written by Archuleta, Sam Hollander, Dave Katz and Chris DeStefano and produced by S*M* & Sluggo -- is to be the first digital single off the CD. It is to be made commercially available July 20 and the radio impact date is slated for Aug. 2.

"I'm really looking forward to releasing this album. Most of the songs on the album represent thoughts and experiences that I've personally gone through," Archuleta said in a statement. "I hope this album helps people understand more of where I'm coming from as an artist and as a person. It's about moving forward in life, making progress in accomplishing your goals and dreams while appreciating what life has given you."
