DETROIT, May 30 (UPI) -- Detroit rocker Kid Rock says local legend Bob Seger will be among performers playing on his latest album, which drops Sept. 7.

"Born Free" will be Rock's first album since "Rock N Roll Jesus" in 2007, The Detroit News noted.

While attending the Movement Festival in Detroit Saturday, Rock revealed Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow and T.I. will also lend their talents to his latest project, The News said.

Rock said the collaboration with Seger -- on the piano -- almost didn't happen.

"I asked him to be on the track and he didn't call me back," Rock said. "I started getting really nervous, and then a couple days later he showed up at the studio, by himself. I said, 'Bob, why didn't you call? I didn't think you were going to do it!' He said, 'I was practicing.'"
