LOS ANGELES, May 19 (UPI) -- Aspiring music star Casey James was eliminated from the singing competition show "American Idol" in Los Angeles Wednesday night.
"I can't believe it, man. I'm so thankful for the opportunity. It's been an amazing, amazing journey and I'm just so honored that I'm here. It's amazing," James said upon learning his fate.

He then sang an excerpt of John Mayer's song "Daughters."
Heading into next week's "Idol" finals are Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze.
